Lucknow: ‘The Kerala Story’, a film based on the large-scale conversion of Hindu women in Kerala and their subsequent enslavement by terrorist outfit ISISI, will now be tax-free in Uttar Pradesh, a government statement said.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also watch the film along with his entire cabinet.
A tweet in this regard has been posted from the official Twitter handle of the CM Office, saying, “CM Yogi, along with his entire cabinet, will watch the film ‘The Kerala Story’ in Lucknow on May 12, 2023.”
At the same time, it has been written on the official Twitter handle of CM Yogi that the screening of ‘The Kerala Story’ will be made tax free in UP. This decision of the Yogi government is being praised a lot on social media platforms. People are urging everyone to watch the film in theatres and promote it.
A government spokesman announced on Tuesday that “The Kerala Story’, a film based on the large-scale conversion of Hindu women in Kerala and their subsequent involvement in terrorist activities, will now be tax-free in Uttar Pradesh.”
He said the CM Yogi would also watch the film along with his entire Cabinet on May 12 after the second phase of polling in Urban Civic Elections.

UP became the second state after Madhya Pradesh to declare this controversial film tax free. Meanwhile, Opposition parties have called The Kerala Story a propaganda film.
What is the story of the film ‘Kerala Story’
Directed by film director Sudipto Sen, ‘The Kerala Story’ is based on girls named Shalini, Neema and Gitanjali, who dream of becoming nurses and come to a college away from home, where they meet Asifa. Asifa is a fundamentalist and as the story progresses, it is revealed that she works to send girls to ISIS. It is shown in the film how Asifa, with the help of her companions, brainwashes those three girls and incites them to change their religion.
